Where do you start on Roblox with almost no budget?

Minimum entry points with known prices: a group for 100 Robux, an avatar item upload for 80 Robux, advertising by auction. The order of steps from cheapest upward.

Start with an avatar item and an ad placement: both have a known entry cost and require no world development. Creating a group costs 100 Robux; uploading an item to the marketplace costs 80 Robux.

Step one: the group

100 Robux. It takes five minutes and settles ownership for the future: everything you publish afterwards belongs to the company rather than to an employee or a contractor.

Do it even if nothing else is planned yet.

Step two: an avatar item

The upload costs 80 Robux. Marketplace commission rules and identity-verification requirements apply from there.

The item lives on an avatar and travels with the player across the platform. It outlasts any campaign.

Keep the constraint in mind from the start: the item has to be distributed. On its own it generates no traffic, and distribution is a separate job with a separate budget.

Step three: advertising inside other people’s worlds

Price comes from the auction; the platform publishes no rate card. The billing rules are documented though: an image impression counts after one second of visibility, autoplay video after half a second, click-to-play video requires 15 seconds, and portals bill on player teleports.

Start with a small budget and one question: does your audience respond to the brand inside the platform.

Step four: integrating into someone else’s world

A deal with the owner of an existing game costs more than advertising and less than your own world, and it gives access to an audience already assembled.

Vet the partner on public data: visits, favourites, last-updated date. A world untouched for six months is yesterday’s statistics and today’s emptiness.

What not to do on a small budget

Build your own world. Development is half the cost; the other half goes to acquisition and support. A world built with all the money available ends up with no traffic and no updates.

The order that works

Group. Item. Advertising. Integration. And only then your own world, once the earlier steps have shown the audience responds.

Each step answers its own question and costs less than the next. That is how you test the platform without risking an annual budget on an empty page.

What we do about it

Roblox advertising, and when it is the wrong thing to buy

Immersive ads are the easiest thing to buy on Roblox and the easiest to waste money on. Here is how each format behaves once real players meet it, and where the spend belongs instead.
