Can you sell real physical products inside Roblox?
Yes, through Roblox Commerce with a connected Shopify store. Creator requirements, country and age limits, and product caps — from the platform's documentation.
Yes. Roblox lets creators sell real physical products inside an experience through a partner programme built on connecting a Shopify store. The restrictions are extensive, and the geographic one is hard: only users located in the US can buy.
Everything below comes from Roblox developer documentation.
Creator requirements
- 18 years of age or older;
- an ID-verified and email-verified account;
- two-step verification enabled;
- you are the registered Shopify account holder for the connected store, or hold written permission;
- business information submitted through the commerce eligibility page;
- an account in good standing under Community Standards.
Who can buy
Only users based in the US. The age floor is 13, except in Texas where it is 18.
For a brand operating outside the American market, that is where the conversation currently ends.
Requirements for the experience
The game must be public, carry content maturity labels, and comply with the platform’s Community Standards, Advertising Standards and Commerce Standards.
How it works technically
Connect the Shopify store through the Creator Dashboard, import catalogue items, create a commerce product in Roblox, submit it for moderation, put it on sale, and implement a purchase prompt inside the game.
Caps
Up to 500 products per experience. No more than 100 on sale at once. Two identical catalogue items cannot be on sale concurrently.
Digital benefits bundled with a purchase
You can attach an in-game reward to a physical product, but the right to do so has to be earned. The documentation requires meeting at least one condition:
- 100,000 or more daily active users, averaged over 90 days;
- or 1,000,000+ Robux in monthly earnings, averaged over 90 days;
- or at least one bundle sale in the past three months;
- or a written agreement with Roblox covering $50,000+ in annual ad spend.
A bundling fee applies; the documentation does not state the amount.
What this means in practice
Direct product sales from inside a game are a working mechanic for a US brand with a Shopify store and a sufficiently large world.
For everyone else the simpler route remains: a promo code inside the experience that the player redeems on your own site. It works in any country and requires neither the Commerce programme nor an audience threshold.
Roblox brand partnerships without building from zero
Building your own world means solving discovery yourself. Partnering means renting an audience someone has already earned — faster, cheaper, and with a different set of trade-offs worth understanding before you sign.
