Where can a Roblox ad send people?

Ads may link to seven named social platforms and nothing else. QR codes, partial links, unapproved URLs, search engines and AI chatbots as landing pages are all prohibited.

Ads may not direct users to any social links except YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and X. That list is the whole permitted set, and it changes the shape of a funnel most brands arrive with.

What the standards prohibit

Ads may not contain or depict unapproved URLs, partial links or QR codes, or direct a user off the platform to unapproved sites or applications in any other way.

Ads may not encourage ineligible users to share links to unapproved sites.

Landing pages that are misleading, or that primarily feature general-purpose search engines or AI chatbots, are prohibited.

For Immersive Portal Ads, the creative may not mislead users about where the portal goes.

What this does to a normal funnel

The brand site is off the list. So is the e-commerce store, the campaign microsite, the app store page and the newsletter signup — none of them are approved destinations, and the QR code workaround is named and closed.

E-commerce is separately restricted as an online service where the audience includes under-13s.

Where the journey has to end instead

Inside an experience. The portal ad exists precisely for this, and the destination has to match what the creative promised.

That reframes the whole plan: the conversion event happens in the world you built, so the world needs to be able to carry it. Lead capture, code redemption, product discovery — those get designed into the space. Lead generation inside a branded world covers how the form fits into play.

The exception worth knowing

Advertisers may use ad content to share ways of contacting or discovering their business, products, services or professional content. Users, by contrast, may be restricted from sharing or requesting personal information depending on their age. Business contact information and personal information are treated as separate things in the rules.

What to fix in the brief

Delete the QR code. Replace the site link with a portal. Decide what the player does when they land, since that is now the whole conversion step. Then check the creative against the current standards, which were last updated on 5 June 2026 and have changed the off-platform section as recently as February.

What we do about it

Roblox advertising, and when it is the wrong thing to buy

Immersive ads are the easiest thing to buy on Roblox and the easiest to waste money on. Here is how each format behaves once real players meet it, and where the spend belongs instead.
